The Entrepreneurship training has enabled Alaa to learn the skills needed to sustain her business in a competitive market. “The training has paved the way for me to conduct therapeutic and recreational workshops in Ramallah and Jerusalem for women and children through the practice of crochet, providing them with the space to create and sell their final products,” says Alaa.
Starting with a strand of wool, Alaa created a small gallery page on her social media account to display her crochet creations. Soon after, she started receiving several orders for crochet from family and friends, and as her network grew, Alaa founded Kheit Baladi (Local Thread), an online business that focuses on wool knitting. As an EFE- Palestine and SMILE project alumna, Alaa was granted 1000 euros to support her entrepreneurial project.
